My first adventures in Germany
So, this is already a week since I’ve got to Germany. Since I’m staying with my friend Captain Young almost at the Air Force military base, I’ve got to see many interesting things never been thinking I will see.
First, when I’ve just landed and Gabriel came to pick me up, there was another girl, I mean lutenant Andrea who came from the Air Force base Aviano which is in Italy. They both were leading a young officers conference which took place here in Ramstein’s base all that week.
So since it impossible to move around without a car here I had to go to the base with them every early morning. So, for me it was quite interesting to see all these young officers (from Germany, Italy and Turkey bases) in their forms. Beside their meetings with generals, they had some very exited tours which I had a chance to join.
One was to the military air terminal, where I’ve got to see airport itself and different militaries who are diploid to some destinations, like Iraq and so on, while they’ve been waiting for their flight.
The fun part was when we had a chance to get to see military planes and even sit on the pilot’s seat. One plane was very small and modern and another one a bit bigger and a bit older. In the bigger one pilot John explained us about some stuff inside and about what kind of flights they have to make. And Baghdad, Iraq is one of main destination. John even missed recent soccer championship here in Germany, because he had to be there in Iraq. Later one he shared with me that the job they did was transporting the troop, taking injured troops back to Germany or any other base and also transporting prisoners from one place to another there Iraq. Pilots are not supposed to see those prisoners, so they would cover their faces with a mask. When John asked once what all these people did so they in prison now, he was very shocked to hear, that many didn’t do anything really harsh or they their case is just in process, the case to find out is there are guilty or not. One and a half year to wait for a court just to find out that may be this person is not guilty. And as John says there are people of all ages, from very young one to the very old and it broke his heart to see it.
By the way John or Juan is you wish is Guatemalan, and I recognized right the way. That’s interesting that no matter where I am, God always bring me to Hispanics. So after his explanation in the plane I spoke to him in Spanish which was a grate bridge to get a new friend God can use me for.
On Tuesday we had a dinner with two injured solders. One was 28 and another just 20. When they’ve been asked to share their experience with us, they young one wasn’t able, to painful it was for him. My hear broke when I saw this pain and lack of hope in his eyes.
This projest of support of US injured troops is taking place every Tuesday. First they give them an opportunity go to the store and choose any close they like and then to attend a dinner in “Mama West” restaurant. I had a chance to get to know this “Mama”, a wonderful black lady who cook for this injured troops for free in her family owned restaurant. Her name is Brenda, but everybody calling her just “mama”. So when she spoke to us, she said that while she actually cooks, she pray over this meal and also she pray for the people who are going to eat it. I really loved, what she said and when she finished I came up and told her about it, and I also asked is there something I can pray for her. She was really touched. She is only believer in all her big family and her heart desire is to see her family saved. I really saw the joy of the Lord in her and a grate servant heart she has. She asked if she can be my black “mama”. I said “yes”.
And being honest, I had a hard times in communicating, just sometimes not finding a common ground with these people. Those of you who knows me, you know how easy I can make friends with people, but one thing I forgot, is that people of the world can be my biddies, but very seldom real friends. I mean not that they don’t care about each other, but if I don’t do the work they does or sometimes not catch up the converstion about what ever their daily life is about, I just out of this fellowship. It happened even when my friend Gabriel was around… But God is helping me. I always feel Hs presence, so even when i'm along, i'm not longly and that is good.
I know that God never do anything by accident and if He allowed me to get here, to be where not everybody gets, that mean He has His planes. My heart is to touch as many lives as I can. And I already thankful to the Lord that He allowed me to share about Him with some officers I had a chance to meet. So if you read that please pray for open door, hearts, divine appointments, boldness and more of His love to all these people.
I also have got an opportunity to drive here. You know, I just love to drive, but since in Russia I don’t have a car, I don’t have a lot of experience. The first (and actually, the only one) car I drove here was Gabriel’s van. Not that I wanted to drive exactly the van, I like small cars much better, but it what we had then. So my first time was late at night when I drove back home. Gosh what a stress, and what en excitement. Another day, Gabriel gave me this van to drive on the base to get to the gym (By the way, gym is really, really cool and modern here). That was an experience! First I didn’t have enough strength to put down, ohh forgot how it’s called in English, hmm emergence stick, it’s on your right, down beside your seat. So I had to ask a passing by officer to help me, silly I know. Then I strolled couple times, so another guy helped me to turn on engine and said: ”Drive carefully”. So I drove, almost to the gym, just mistaken and passed my turn, almost got to the military terminal where I not supposed to be. Oh my gosh, I strolled so many times, but finally I did it I got there. Later on I drove to the store and was very proud of myself. But, there was another day. I was trying to pull back the van I bummed into construction track. Man, I just didn’t feel how big the care I drove is. It wasn’t a big accident, but I broke some little part of this track. You can see a picture. Praise God Gabriel got out of the building to see if General was coming, so he came and saved me. We had to call police and declare about the accident, so that insurance company could deal with this issue and though it costed Gabriel lot's of money. Really bad! Here more pictures of that. So that was another experience. The bad thing is that Gabriel doesn't entrust mi his car anymore, but it's ok i might wouldn't do it eather.
One of these days we’ve been participating in community social project. We’ve been planting flowers in the local dinosaurs’ park. See pix.
On Thursday all those young officers and me, we went to Verdun, France where in World War 1 was a battle between Germany and France. That was a good time, when I had a chance to get to know these officers. Most of them are of my age, some even younger. I just imagine myself being an officer and have all those responsibilities these guys have. Wow.
What else. On Friday Gabriel, Andrea, Michel and I we went small German town Bernkastel-Kues at the Mosel river. It is so beautiful small town with traditional painted buildings, castle and vineyards. Friday night we had a dinner at the local small restaurant where Germans have been having a good time eating, drinking and singing their traditional songs.
On sunday i had a chance to go to my home church Calvary Chapel here in Kaiserslats or loke americans call it K-Town. It's always good to be with a family, even if you didn't know that family before. I was welcomed there and i hope i can help them out a bit in their ministry. Many militaries and their families go there too.
I've just got an invitation from Mexico and i'm going to start my visa process. I hope it will work out if God's will.

My way to Germany
On the way to Germany i passed one day in Finland. It was really good day. My Brazilian friend came to pick me up at the train station and brought me to the house of one sister from Domenican Republic. This day Everaldo and his family moved back to Brazil, so i went to the airport with them. On the way back i saw a guy singing in the metro, really beautiful voice. My peruvian sister said that his parents chirsitan missionaries and he speaks different languages, so i felt like God was leading me to come and talk to him. It was sad to find out that he walked away from the Lord. But God keeps sending to him His people to remind about how much He loves him.
Next morning i took a train to Tampere where i had to get a plane. When i've got there i had a problem to get a bus to go to the airport. Because if i would wait untill 4 pm and my flight was at 5:25 i could just miss it. I tried to stop a taxi, by just lifting a hand, like we do it in Russia, but it didn't work. And all this time i was praying that God would help me out.
Tha's good that in Finland almost everybody speaks english, so i stoped and ask one man how i can get a taxi, and he said that he can just call it for me. And he did.
So i've got my taxi and we moved toward th eairport. Driver's name was Dolma and he was surprised that i was russian. We had a grate talk on the way, so i even had a chance to share a bit about the Lord with him.
Raynair airlines are chip, but not the most confortable ones. But i praise God that even though my ears were blocked when we were landing, it didn't heart too bad like it was many times before when i flied.
So evrything went well and i've got to Germany.
