Dominicans, the way they are
Peace to all of you my dear friends and family. How are you al doing? Warm and even hot greetings and blessings from the cost of Dominican Republic. God is so good and so faithful! 5 years of prayers about Latin America. And here am i already 1 month ish in the island in Caribbean sea- Dominican Republic. In brief, the first week i spent with a a wonderful dominican family in a small town Hato Mayor del Rey. I had a chance to see daily life of regular dominicans, to get to know these people. Dominicans are very joyful and open. They never in hurry. Life is a time of rest and a bit of work to be able to buy some rice, beans and chicken. In general Dominicans who lives in the small towns and villages are very simple people, but those who live on the cost and working in a tourism or in the touristic area they are very sneaky, they called to be a "tigeraso". They trying to use foreigners and always charge them more. If you are white, and have blue pr green eyes, be ready to hear a highest price for any product or service. Here you always have to negotiate. This is a world of mulats and black. So you can imagine how much attention i have here. I found out that my blue eyes have unhealthy effect on local man, so i'm trying not to stare to their eyes too much. Because if not, the words like "my queen, precious, beautiful and on and on". As any latin american country, people here are very emotional. They can call "my love" anyone. They always fall in love with everybody. That's why such an issue like faithfulness is not very know here. In the same time there is about 80% of christians. And their love to God they express with the same emotions. If dominicans become a real Christians they become very passionate about their faith. They going to proclaim the Word everywhere they go, listen christian music and very loud at their work and homes. Lot's of scriptures like "I love Jesus", "Bavaro for Christ", "Repent, Jesus is coming", "Jesus is my savior", all over, on the cars, on the door of their stores, on the walls. EVERYWHERE!! JESUS, JESUS, JESUS. That's amazing. There is no need to make a outreach the way we used to do it in Russia or Europe, so the people could hear a Good News. The majority of population have herd it. But what happened, many have knowledge about God, but not walking close to Him.
So, after one week in Hatoy Mayor, i moved on the cost to Bavaro/Punta Cana. I've got a job as a tourguide for russian tourists. I had a chance to see many gorgeous place, to swim in the Careeben sea during the trips to the islands Saona and Catalinita. I went to the capital Santo Domingo. But the God showed me that it wasn't His will to me to continue, because i wouldn't have time to participate in the ministry, because that is my purpose of being here, to minister to these people, that what i was praying about, and i need to be focused. So i quit a job.
When i quit a job i was taking away an apartment where i was living, which was rented by a company for me.God was faithful to provide me another place to stay. It was a house of one old lady, Pastor Pascual' mother. He is a pastor of a young Pentecostal church here i attend. He was impacted by my decision to leave a job in order to be able to serve God. And also God leads him to support me here in all my ministry and life. I also go to the baptist church, where the Word of God is preach very good. Calvary Chapel is a grate balance between these two types of denominations, but there is no one in this country.
We had here a big evangelistic campaign. Square of people worshiping God on the open air, preaching of different pastors, healings, casting of deamons. This last one was something very new to me to see.God provided me another job. I work as a concierge in 5 stars hotel Gran Bahia Principe. This job gives me an access to many latinos who works here, who i can minister to. It gives me a place to live, food, insurance and bit more time for the ministry.
In reality very little time. Me and Kike we went to the christian concert which took place here in Bavaro, and then participated in in the christimas help to poor families' kids. See the pix.
